Netball Samoa appoint Frances Solia as coach leading up to the Netball World Cup 2019.

Frances Solia has been appointed coach of the Samoan national team leading into Netball World Cup Liverpool 2019.

The former Samoan international retired from elite Netball in 2012 and has since held roles with Netball Central, including assistant coach of the Pulse in the former trans-Tasman Netball League.

Solia told the Samoan Observer the appointment is a privilege and honour.

“It’s been my dream that once I retired I would give back to my country,” Solia said.

“Samoa has given me so many opportunities to not only represent my nation but to help others become better athletes.

“We are at a rebuilding phase right now, and this is an exciting challenge. With World Cup in 2019 there is plenty of work to be done.”
