Americas Netball Celebrates 30 Years

On the 30th March 2022 World Netball’s Regional Federation for the Americas proudly celebrated its 30thAnniversary.

The Americas Netball Federation, previously known as the Americas Federation of Netball Associations (AFNA) until 2021, was established in March 1992 and is one of the five Regional Associations of World Netball. This regional structure provides a critical and streamlined administration, communication and development role for our sport worldwide.

The Americas Netball Federation is now made up of 15 Full Members and 3 Associate Members, with their latest addition being the Dominican Republic as an Associate Member.

The current president of the Federation is Marva Bernard OD, who is also an active World Netball Board member and  World Netball’s Teamwork Ambassador.

World Netball President, Liz Nicholl CBE, would like to thank everyone involved in Americas Netball for all the work they continue to do in their Region, she said: “Over the last 30 years Americas Netball has brought together the Member Nations within its Region to grow and further develop our sport in new and existing territories.

“World Netball is extremely proud and grateful for all those past and present who have contributed to the continued success of netball within the Americas.”

“We look forward to continuing to work with the Regional Federation for many years to come.”
