World Netball Announces New Coaching Advisory Panel

World Netball (WN) has today announced six new members of its Coaching Advisory Panel (CAP), who will be joining Chair, Dr Anita Navin, as well as re-appointed members Sue Hawkins and Burta De Kock on the Panel.

The new members include Anna Stembridge, Leigh Gibbs, Nicola Jones, Sue Gaudion, Tracey Neville and Vicki Wilson.

The Panel is responsible for advising the World Netball CEO and the Board, and working with them to support the development and implementation of agreed priorities in the WN Strategic Plan, particularly, in relation to driving the development of quality coaches and coaching worldwide.

Speaking on the exciting announcement, CAP Chair Anita Navin said: “The newly appointment members to the Coaching Advisory Panel bring a wealth of expertise to support the various coaching projects at World Netball.

“The expertise of this group is wide ranging from coaching at international level, leading coach development programmes across developing and established nations, performance programme leadership to commercial and commentary in our sport.

“As a group we share the passion and enthusiasm to make a difference by committing to not only developing our game on the international stage but also ensuring the grassroots programmes in netball continue to empower and engage more individuals.”

The Panel’s work will begin with them supporting the Rules Advisory Panel with the current rules review, and working to deliver an International Coaching Conference in Cape Town during the Netball World Cup 2023 in July.

Congratulating the new members on their appointments and thanking the previous CAP members World Netball President, Liz Nicholl CBE, added: “On behalf of World Netball I would like to take this opportunity to firstly thank those members of the Coaching Advisory Panel who have recently stepped down for their significant contribution to World Netball; WN Service Awards holder Jill McIntosh former CAP chair and members Julia Lawrence, Yvonne Willering, Norma Plummer and Bridget Adams.

“We recently launched a new online Coaching Hub on our website, containing foundation videos and coaching cards, and this was all due to their hard work.

“Congratulations to the new members, we look forward to working with you to drive game development and grow our coaching workforce globally.”
