England Netballer Jade Clarke among those named in the New Year Honours List for 2023

England Netballer, Jade Clarke, has been awarded an MBE for her services to netball in the New Year Honours list for 2023.

Clarke made her debut for the England Roses back in 2003, and since then has made 195 appearances for her country helping them to win three medals at the Netball World Cup and four at the Commonwealth Games (CWG), most notably a gold at the Gold Coast 2018 CWG.

The midcourters 195 caps make her the most-capped England netballer in history.

On the news the England Netball CEO, Fran Connolly, said: “On and off the court, Jade is an amazing role model for our sport, continuing to excel for the Vitality Roses whilst being an incredible advocate for netball, helping to inspire and encourage players of all ages and at every level of the game.”

Congratulations don’t stop there within England Netball though, as their 2022 ‘Young Volunteer of the Year’ and England Mixed Netball Squad Player, Ziana Butt, has also been recognised in the New Year Honours list, as she has been awarded a BEM for her services to netball and diversity.

World Netball would like to take this opportunity to congratulate both Jade and Ziana on their achievements and thank them both for all that they continue to do to grow our sport.
