At the end of Round 3 of the Netball Super League (NSL) it is just Loughborough Lightning and Nottingham Forest with the 100% win record, following some league upsets live and on demand on NetballPass*, BBC and Sky Sports.
Here is this week’s International Player Watch:
LexisNexis Dargons vs AO Manchester Thunder
Dragons may still be without their first league victory of the season following Round 3 of the NSL, but their defence is certainly something to be wary of as they once again put their opposition to the test.
Thunder were forced to work for their 55-69 victory on Friday, with Australian Jacqui Newton continuing to cause problems in defence as she worked tirelessly in the shooting circle making sure she stayed top of the league’s intercepts chart with eight to her name.
The visitors grew into the game, with England Rose Eleanor Cardwell finding her rhythm in the second quarter and Lois Pearson seamlessly transition from wing attack to goal attack, with her perfect feeds and accurate shooting earning her the Player of the Match award.

Birmingham Panthers vs London Mavericks
Both Birmingham Panthers and London Mavericks came into this contest looking for their first league win of the season, and it was evident from the first whistle both teams were not going to give up without a fight.
It was Panthers that took the initial lead, but the Mavericks defence soon put a stop to that with South Africa SPAR Protea Jamie Golob and England Rose Razia Quashie working hard to disrupt the flow of play and return the ball to the visitors’ hands.
From the second quarter onwards, there was no stopping Mavericks as they went on to win 49-76 making it the highest scoring game of the NSL 2026 season so far.

Loughborough Lightning 68 – 61 London Pulse
Next up, we had a NSL 2025 Grand Final repeat with Loughborough Lightning looking to get their revenge on defending Champions, London Pulse.
As expected, it was a tightly contested game and keeping with the theme of defensive duos being on fire, England’s Alice Harvey and South Africa’s Shadine van der Merwe were a forced to be reckoned with in defence for Lightning.
At the other end of the court, it was a clinical performance from England’s Ella Clark that really won the game and gave Lightning the league top spot, as Clark scored four Amex Super Shots in the final 15 minutes alone.

Nottingham Forest 61 – 51 NIC Leeds Rhinos
The only other team that remains unbeaten alongside Lightning at the end of Round 3 is Nottingham Forest, after they beat NIC Leeds Rhinos 61-51.
It wasn’t easy for Forest though, with their strong start undone by Rhinos in the final 15 minutes, as Harriet Jones scored six Amex Super Shots in just on quarter to bring her side right back into it.
Forest calmly managed to settle play again, with South Africa SPAR Protea Rolene Streutker impressing once again, netting 32 goals and later being awarded Player of the Match for her performance.
Streutker still sits top of the stats charts for total goals scored with a total of 125, including 31 Super Shots, whilst Forest now sit 2nd in the league on goal difference.
