The Netball Super League (NSL) Round 7 took place this weekend live on NetballPass*, BBC and Sky Sports, with Super Shots galore across the UK.
Here is this week’s international player spotlight:
Loughborough Lightning vs Birmingham Panthers
It was a close contest between Loughborough Lightning and Birmingham Panthers, with only one goal separating the two sides at half-time.
Both teams came into this match off the back of Round 6 victories, and their confidence was clear as they flew out the blocks at the first whistle.
Trinidad & Tobago’s Samantha Wallace-Joseph, was unstoppable in the shooting circle for Lightning as she scored 34 goals and a staggering nine Super Shots, helping her team pull away in the second half and win the match 72-68.

Leeds Rhinos vs Nottingham Forest
The second match of the weekend was a game of two halves, with Leeds Rhinos charging into the game to make sure they had the lead at half-time, before Nottingham Forest bounced back in the penultimate quarter, to take the eventual 60-74 victory.
England Rose’s Tash Pavelin and Jayda Pechova proved crucial in this fixture as they worked seamlessly together in defence for Forest, collectively making seven interceptions, 14 gains and six deflections.
Pechova now also finds herself second in the rebound’s charts, whilst Pavelin was awarded Player of the Match for her performance.

London Pulse vs Cardiff Dragons
Next up, we had seven successful Super Shots in Round 7 from Sophie Kelly.
The England Rose, who moved to London Pulse at the start of this season, has continued to make her mark in pink and has now scored 19 Super Shots this season.
Pulse did not miss a beat in this game as they beat Cardiff Dragons 67-52 keeping their unbeaten record alive for another week.
Unfortunately for Dragons this means they will remain bottom of the table for another week, still waiting for their first victory.

Manchester Thunder vs London Mavericks
In the last match of Round 7, Manchester Thunder moved up to 2nd in the league following their marginal victory over London Mavericks on Monday evening.
It was not easy for the home side with Maverick’s getting stronger by the quarter, closing the gap to just two goals with 15 minutes remaining.
Spurred on by their home crowd Thunder secured the win, 59-54, with England Rose Taylor McKevitt a key piece in their winning puzzle as she made two interceptions, three gains, and four deflections, before eventually being awarded the Player of the Match award for her performance.
