The Netball Super League (NSL) Round 11 took place this weekend live on NetballPass*, BBC and Sky Sports, with Loughborough Lightning and London Pulse becoming the first two teams to confirm their Play-Off spots.
Here is this week’s international player spotlight:
London Mavericks vs Nottingham Forest
London Mavericks improved their chances of achieving top four, with a victory over 5th placed Nottingham Forest.
England Rose Razia Quashie was a force to be reckoned with in defence for Mavericks, as she piled the pressure on, keeping Rolene Streutker’s goal scoring tally down to just 21, as well as making seven gains, five intercepts and five deflections, before being named Player of the Match.
Mavericks are now six points clear of Forest in the top four with three games of the regular season left to play.

Cardiff Dragons vs Loughborough Lightning
Loughborough Lightning became the first team to confirm their sport in the NSL Play-Offs when they beat Cardiff Dragons 54-71 in Round 11.
It has been a great first NSL season so far for Trinidad & Tobago’s Samantha Wallace-Joseph as she once again proved key for Lightning in the shooting circle, scoring 32 goals and 7 Super Shots, with 91% accuracy.

Leeds Rhinos vs Manchester Thunder
Manchester Thunder made their mark from the first quarter in their game against Leeds Rhinos, taking an 11-goal lead into the first break thanks to Elmeré van der Berg’s buzzer-beater goal.
The South African SPAR Protea continued in her clinical form for the rest of the match, scoring a total of 42 goals and five Super Shots before being awarded Player of the Match.
Thunder now sit third in the league, keeping their top four hopes very much alive.

London Pulse vs Birmingham Panthers
London Pulse have to wait no longer for their Semi-Final fate to be determined, as their win over Birmingham Panthers see’s their top four spot confirmed.
6th in the table Panthers shot into the first quarter, catching top of the table Pulse by surprise as they won the first quarter.
Pulse had to fight hard to get back in front, and even then, Panthers were always hot on their tails with any outcome possible.
England Rose Funmi Fadoju was a key part to the Pulse winning puzzle as she came through with nine deflections, six gains and four interceptions, which all proved crucial to her sides eventual 63-58 win.

And finally,
History was also made at the Copper Box this weekend when the England Thorns hosted the Australian Kelpie’s on English soil for the first time, ahead of Pulse’s Round 11 NSL clash.
The Thorns and Kelpies played their first of three matches in the Aurora Test Series, with the Kelpies’ coming out on top with a 63-34 victory, live and free on NetballPass.
The final two matches will take place this weekend, with the Thorns hosting the Kelpies ahead of Lightning and Pulses’ home matches in Round 12 of the NSL.
