Here is this week’s international player spotlight:

Cardiff Dragons – Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest returned to winning ways in Round 10 of the NSL, as they beat Cardiff Dragons 53 – 77.

Leeds Rhinos –  London Mavericks

Extra time was needed to decide the winners of the second clash in Round 10, as the score between Leeds Rhinos and London Mavericks sat at 59-59 at the final whistle.

England Rose Razia Quashie helped Mavericks get back into the game in extra time as she continued to pile on the pressure in defence, eventually finishing the game with eight gains and three intercepts – all of which proved crucial in a clash that finished 66 – 71 to Mavericks.

Mavericks victory keeps them in the top four, three points ahead of Nottingham Forest who they face in the next round.

London Pulse – Loughborough Lightning

We have two teams at the top!

Loughborough Lightning made a statement in their visit to the capital, as they beat London Pulse 53-58 meaning both teams are now level on points at the top of the table.

Lightning shot out the blocks, taking an early 9 goal lead into the first break which they maintained going into the second half.

England Rose Berri Neil excelled for Lightning against her former side Pulse, as she scored 10 goals, two super shots and put in eight feeds, before being awarded Player of the Match.

Despite Pulse making a final quarter comeback, it was too little too late as Lightning dealt them their second defeat of the season and joined them in the top spot.

Manchester Thunder – Birmingham Panthers

Netball returned to the M&S bank arena in Liverpool this weekend, for the first time since the Netball World Cup 2019 – and it was Manchester Thunder that left the venue victorious beating Birmingham Panthers 67-61.

It was a close one, with Thunder only leading by five goals going into the final quarter following a third quarter comeback from Panthers.

However, Thunder managed to re-gain control in the final 15-minutes, with England’s Josie Huckle key to their success as she made three gains, three deflections and one interception, before being awarded Player of the Match.
