Lightning Book Last Spot in NSL Grand Final

Loughborough Lightning booked the last spot in the Grand Final this weekend, as they came back from behind to beat Manchester Thunder 69 – 57 in the Preliminary Final.

The victory means that Lightning will face Pulse in the Grand Final on Sunday 6th July, live and on demand on NetballPass for the international netball family.

The defending champions were behind by seven at the first break, with South Africa SPAR Protea Elmere van der Berg clinical under post for Thunder.

Lightning’s Trinidad & Tobago shooter, Samatha Wallace-Joseph then said anything you can do, we can do better as she scored a Super Shot to level things up in the second quarter.

By half time the game had turned on its head, with Lightning now seven goals to the better with a big 30 minutes aheaed.

Wallace-Joseph continued to be the star of the show in her inaugural NSL season as she converted her Super Shots in the third quarter too, giving Lightning a 12-point lead at the final break, making it all too difficult from Thunder to bounce back.

By the end of the game the Lightning shooter had scored 12 Super Shots.
