Following Round 2 of the ANZ Premiership (ANZP) live and on demand on NetballPass*, only one team remains unbeaten.
Read this weeks International Player Watch to find out which team that is:
Southern Steel vs Stars
Southern Steel bounced back from their defeat in Round 1 of the ANZ Premiership (ANZP) to beat a strong Stars team 96 – 60.
It was Stars that shot into the contest with confidence following their previous round victory, as they won the first quarter 15-19.
However, Steel showed their strength and resilience in the second set of 15 minutes to turn the game around.
The home side won this quarter by an impressive margin of 21 – 7, thanks to Silver Ferns Aliyah Dunn and Carys Stythe who were both clinical in their own rights at either end of the court.
Dunn was untouchable under post as she scored 54/56 of her shots, whilst Stythe made four interceptions at goal keeper, more than any other player that took to court in this game.
Stars regained composure in the second half, getting themselves to back within four at one stage, but it appeared too little too late and Steel edged out their first win of the season.

Magic vs Mystics
Speaking of first wins, last season’s Minor Premiers Mystics secured their first victory of the season this weekend when they beat Magic 37 – 57.
It was a full team performance that led to Mystics dominating throughout this clash, winning all four quarters, the fourth of which was by the biggest margin of 10 goals.
One key difference between these two teams was the accuracy of their shooters, with the away side’s trio of Maia Wilson, Filda Vui and Sophia Lafaiali’I missing just five shots between them.
Silver Fern Wilson finished the game with 25 goals, putting her 3rd in the leagues goals scored charts.

Tactix vs Pulse
Following Round 2, there is only one unbeaten team left in the ANZP: Tactix.
The defending champions recorded their second win of the season when they beat Pulse 53 – 48.
Tactix edged Pulse in the first three quarters, looking after the ball to maintain possession whilst also winning more ball through Australia’s Ash Barnett and New Zealand U21 Laura Balmer.
Barnett finished the game with three interceptions and four deflections, whilst Balmer recorded four interceptions and eight deflections.
Pulse did attempt to make a comeback in quarter four, winning this 9-14, however Tactix had already done the work by this point to ensure they were victorious and stayed top of the league.
