South Africa SPAR Protea Rolene Streutker shot at 100%, Manchester Thunder made a second half come-back, and young Rose Celena Appleby-Prince stood out for league leaders Lightning as Round 8 of the Netball Super League (NSL) took place live and on demand on NetballPass*.

Here is this week’s International Player Watch:

Birmingham Panthers vs Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest ended their four-game losing streak as they beat Birmingham Panther 54 – 70 in Round 8.

The win see’s Forest pull further clear into the 4th place play-off position, now five points ahead of London Mavericks.

As she has been all season South Africa SPAR Protea Rolene Streutker was unstoppable in the shooting circle for Forest as she shot at a showstopping100% in this match, scoring all 43 of her one-point shots as well as nine Amex Super Shots.

Those impressive game day stats mean that Streutker now sits second in the one point goals chart, with 248 to her name this season and top of the Amex Super Shots chart, with 74 scored this season.

Young England Rose, Jayda Pechova, was equally as impactful for Forest at the other end of the court as she made six deflections, four rebounds and seven gains.

AO Manchester Thunder vs LexisNexis Dragons

It was a game of two halves as Manchester Thunder welcomed LexisNexis Dargons to the Belle Vue Arena.

Dragons roared into the first half, ensuring they were leading by one at the main break, however, Thunder were able to bounce back in the second half and win the game 67 -55.

One international match up we loved was Welsh Feather Georgia Rowe against South Africa SPAR Protea Nicola Smith.

Dragons’ shooter Rowe was clinical when given the opportunity to shoot, with a 96% conversion rate in this game.

However, Smith did not make it easy for Rowe as she marked her closely making six deflections and seven gains which inevitably proved the difference in the close scoreline.

Smith was eventually awarded Player of the Match for her performance.

Loughborough Lightning vs London Mavericks

Loughborough Lightning have continued to show just why they are top of the league, with another full team performance resulting in a 73 – 56 victory over London Mavericks.

The international player spotlight in this game goes to young Rose Celena Appleby-Prince.

The defender, who was part of England’s Netball World Youth Cup 2025 bronze medal winning side, stepped into goal keeper to replace the injured Alice Harvey in the Lightning starting seven and did not disappoint as she made seven deflections and three gains.

At the other end of the court, Trinidad & Tobago’s Samantha Wallace-Joseph was able to capitalise on Appleby-Prince’s turnovers, scoring 37 goals with just one miss all game.

London Pulse vs NIC Leeds Rhinos

In the final game of Round 8, London Pulse proved too strong for Leeds Rhinos as they beat them 65 – 44 to stay in the Major Semi-Final position of 2nd.

It was a trio of England Roses that proved the difference for Pulse.

Alicia Scholes was a real play maker as she put in 42 feeds, whilst also receiving 19 centre passes.

Scholes linked up beautifully with fellow Rose Liv Tchine, allowing Tchine to score 19 goals and two Amex Super Shots.

Then at the other end of the court England’s Funmi Fadoju made eight deflections and seven gains.
