NIC Leeds Rhinos vs LexisNexis Dragons
LexisNexis Dragons roared to their first victory of the NSL season in Round 4, as they got the better of NIC Leeds Rhinos beating them 51 – 62.
Dragons defence had been a force to be reckoned with in their first three games of the season, and it was clear a win was on the horizon for this team.
The Welsh side were on top from the first whistle, but it was the penultimate 15 minutes that made all the difference as they won this quarter comfortably by eight all but securing the victory.
Scottish Thistle Niamh McCall spearheaded the performance for Dragons as she scored 22 goals and nine Amex Super Shots, putting her 3rd in the league for Amex Super Shots with 32 to her name so far.

This was a game of two halves, with Manchester Thunder getting off to the strongest start of the two teams thanks to their shooting duo of Australian Diamond Sophie Fawns and England Rose Eleanor Cardwell, who were clinical under post extending Thunders lead to 34-20 at half time.
However, Panthers pounced back in the third quarter ever hungry for their first win.
In the penultimate 15 minutes New Zealand Silver Fern Tiana Metuarau scored 10 goal and two Amex Super Shots for the home side, bringing the gap back to just four goals with one quarter to go.
Thunder stayed strong in the fourth quarter to see out the victory, 48 – 58.

It was the visitors that led at the end of each of the first three quarters, with South Africa SPAR Protea Rolene Streutker on fire once again scoring nine Amex Super Shots throughout the game.
However, the late introduction of England Rose Sophie Kelly for Pulse saw the defending Champions make a comeback in the final 15 minutes bringing the score back to 53-53 and sending the game into extra time.
