France Enter World Netball World Rankings for the First Time

World Netball (WN) has today updated the WN World Rankings, with France entering the rankings for the first time ever.

This comes after France, who became a Full Member of WN in March 2023, reached the minimum number of matches required for a ranking (8) during the Europe Netball Open Challenge in May.

France now sit 29th in the WN World Rankings, with a rating of 31.

Irelands performance in Division 1 at the Europe Netball Open Challenge, where they beat higher ranked UAE 44-48 in their opening match, led to them moving up three places from 25th, to 22nd, whilst the Netball World Youth Cup 2025 hosts, Gibraltar (26th), and Malta (44th) both moved up one place each following their performances in Division 2 at the same event.

Irelands increased rating led to Botswana, Sri Lanka and Singapore all dropping one place, whilst the Isle of Man have dropped four places to 32nd having lost all their matches at the Europe Netball event in Division 1.

As well as the Europe Netball Open Challenge, this WN World Rankings update also includes the results from the recent Pacific Netball Series in June.

Fiji, who finished 2nd in the Pacific Netball Series, losing out in the Final to WN World Ranked 8th, Tonga, were rewarded for their achievements as they moved up one place to 14th, as their rating increased by three.

Slightly further down the table, everyone from Antigua and Barbuda (now 33rd), to Brunei (now 43rd) dropped one place, due to France’s introduction, whilst Israel and Tanzania dropped two places to 45th and 46th.

Switzerland remain bottom of the table, with 47 countries now ranked due to France’s introduction.
