World Netball (WN) is pleased to announce that Luke Ford, Dr Samuel Ogbondeminu, and Dr Maria Mulunga have been appointed as Members of the World Netball Medical Advisory Panel (MAP).
The Panel is responsible for advising the World Netball CEO and Board on medical, health, and wellbeing issues and works closely with them to support the development and implementation of agreed priorities in the Strategic Plan.
Ford is the lead physiotherapist for WN Member, Wales Netball, and specialises in musculoskeletal management, rehabilitation and performance optimisation, Dr Ogbondeminu is a Sports Medicine Practitioner with over two decades of experience in athlete care and injury management, having been involved at previous Commonwealth Games and Olympics.
Finally, Dr Mulunga, who has a Bachelor’s of Medicine and Surgery, brings experience from her role as the team doctor at WN Member, Netball Namibia, which she has held since 2021.
The three new Members will join MAP Chair Prof. Christa Janse Van Rensburg and fellow MAP Members Sharon Kearney, Janet Young and Dr Laura Lallenec to make up the panel.
Speaking on welcoming the new Members to MAP, Prof Christa said: “I am thrilled to be able to welcome Luke, Samuel, and Maria to the Medical Advisory Panel.
“I know their knowledge and experience will only complement what we already have on the panel, and I am really looking forward to working with the three of them.”
