World Netball (WN) has today announced that new Members have joined the Officiating Advisory Panel (OAP).
Garratt Williamson will remain Chair of the group, and he will now be joined by Alan Anderson, Gareth Fowler, Josh Bowring, Dr Carmeta Douglin, and Joan Yuliani who have been successfully appointed as Members of the OAP.
WN’s International Officiating Manager, Christina Barrow, will also remain on the panel.
The OAP is responsible for advising the WN CEO and Board and working with them to support the development and implementation of agreed priorities in the World Netball Strategic Plan, particularly in development and ratification of policies and supporting the development and implementation of agreed priorities for World Class Officiating (WCO) and outcomes of any WCO reviews.
There is also an Officiating Advisory Panel (OAP) Strategic Plan which aligns with the above responsibilities and those appointed will be continuing with the related activities within this strategic plan.
Speaking on the exciting news Williamson said: “It is an important time for officiating as the OAP looks to further operationalise the World Netball Officiating Strategy.
“A lot of work has gone into the strategy and a lot of work is to come.
“It is an exciting time to be an official in Netball.”
World Netball would like to take this opportunity to thank Gary Burgess, Lisa Douglas, and Stacey Campton, who have all decided to step down from their roles as an OAP Member.
Their voluntary efforts and contributions, particularly on the creation of the OAP Strategic Plan, have been invaluable.
