World Netball Announces Janet Young as Medical Advisory Panel Representative for Netball World Youth Cup 2025.
World Netball (WN) is pleased to announce that Janet Young has been appointed as the Medical Advisory Panel Representative for the Netball World Youth Cup 2025 (NWYC2025), taking place in Gibraltar form the 19th-28th September 2025.
Young was a Biomedical Scientist for Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board in Scotland for 37 years, is now a qualified UK Anti-Doping Educator.
In netball specific roles, Young is the Anti-Doping Lead for WN Region, Europe Netball, and Member, Netball Scotland and she is also a member of the WN Medical Advisory Panel (MAP), having been appointed in 2022.
Speaking on the news, Young said: “I am delighted to have been appointed by World Netball as the Medical Advisory Panel Representative for the Netball World Youth Cup 2025 to be held in Gibraltar and look forward to working in this role.
“This will be the first Netball World Youth Cup held since 2017 because of the cancellation of the last event due to Covid, so it’s very exciting for everyone who is going to be involved.”
Youngs role will see her work on behalf of WN during the NWYC2025 to ensure the promotion and protection of the health of players and to protect clean athletes by the promotion and implementation of the World Anti-Doping Code and the WN Anti-Doping Rules.
