Tactix win their first ANZ Premiership Grand Final

The ANZ Premiership (ANZP) came to an end this weekend with Tactix winning their first ever Grand Final, as they beat defending Champions Mystics 58-46, live on NetballPass*.

Tactix silenced the packed-out Mystics home crowd from the first whistle, as they flew out the blocks winning the opening quarter 8-17.

Silver Fern Karin Burger made her presence known from the off, as she made a turnover which sparked Tactix early run.

Down the other end of the court Tactix showed patience as they worked the ball around the final third, before finding the safe hands of their shooters Ellie Bird and Te Paea Selby-Rickit.

Mystics responded by making early changes and piling on the pressure in defence, but the controlled and calm manor of Tactix remained throughout as they continued to use their reset options and find a way to goal.

Bird went on to score 50 goals shooting at 93%, whilst in defence Burger made one interception and four deflections before being named Most Valuable Player by the fans.

The Minor Premiers Mystics never won a quarter as Tactix went on to win 46-58 and take the title.
