The ANZ Premiership (ANZP) reached Round 10 this weekend, and it was a big moment for the top of the table teams, Tactix and Pulse, as they went head-to-head live on NetballPass.
Pulse started the match in the 1st place position on goal percentage, with Tactix in second place.
As expected, the game remained tight throughout with the two teams taking it in turns to win quarters, until the score sat at 51-51 at full-time, meaning extra-time would be needed at the Wolfbrook Arena to decide the winner.
It was at this point that the experience of Tactix shone through, with Silver Fern Karin Burger causing all sort of problems in the centre court at wing defence, making four gains, five deflections, three intercepts throughout the game.
Tactix went on to dominate the extra time period, winning this 7-2, a win which sees the two teams swap places with Tactix now in that top position.

Another close clash that took place on Saturday was that between Mystics and Stars, known as the Auckland Derby.
There was no way of predicting which team would win this one, with the lead constantly changing hands throughout.
Mystics lead by nine at the end of the third quarter, but Stars shot out into the final 15-minutes doing everything in their power to bounce back from the deficit.
It just wasn’t enough for Stars though, with Mystics 17-9 third quarter just enough for them to win by two; 51-49.
Mystics shooting combination of Hannah Glen and Samoan, Filda Vui, deserve recognition for their contribution to this result, as they shared the goals evenly with Glen scoring 22 to Vui’s 27, making it difficult for Stars to ever work out who the real threat under post was.

Finally, on NetballPass this weekend, Magic and Steel took to court at the Globox Arena, and what a match it turned out to be with Magic not pulling away until the second half.
Magic have their Silver Ferns defence to thank for this breakaway, with Georgia Takarangi and Erena Mikaere, sensational in their defensive circle, making two interceptions each in the 60 minutes.
Takarangi also made nine gains, 13 deflections and three pickups, whilst Mikaere made a further four deflections.
The 48-41 result in Magic’s favour has helped them continue their push for 3rd place, as they now sit in 4th behind Mystics who they face in Round 11, live on NetballPass.
For Steel, the result means they remain bottom of the table with top of the table Tactix their next match.
The final match in Round 11 will be Pulse vs Stars.
