Melbourne Vixens vs West Coast Fever
Next up, we had two confirmed Semi-Finalists going head-to-head as Melbourne Vixens welcomed West Coast Fever.
For Fever, a win against 2nd placed Vixens would mean they’d move up to 3rd and earn the right to host Mavericks in the Minor Semi-Final.
It was clear from the start that both teams were fired up for this game, as the first 15 minutes were fierce, fiery and physical.
It wasn’t until the 2nd quarter that Fever really began to get a grip on the game, with England Rose Fran Williams making a real impact in defence as she made a key intercept to push her side ahead.
By half time, Fever lead 25 – 34 and they then worked tirelessly in the penultimate quarter to hold off Vixens.
The home side continued to throw everything at it in the final 15 minutes, but it just wasn’t to be as Fever won 55 – 64.
