Here is this week’s International Player Watch:
Sunshine Coast Lightning vs Melbourne Mavericks
A strong start for Sunshine Coast Lightning saw them hold on to beat Melbourne Mavericks, 67- 60 in Round 8 of the SSN.
The victory sees Lightning push themselves back into second place in the league, with the top four remaining extremely tight.
One international star that couldn’t be ignored in this match was Australian Diamond Courtney Bruce.
After a strong start, Bruce was forced off the court briefly in quarter two due to an ankle injury, but she soon bounced back returning to court and finishing the game with three intercepts and four gains.

With 15 minutes left on the clock the visitors had the lead, 47-50.
It was a game changing interception from Australian Diamond Maddy Turner in the final quarter for Swifts that changed the momentum, and allowed Swifts to re-gain the lead for the first time since the opening quarter, before going on to steal the win.
