Round 6 of the Suncorp Super Netball League (SSN) took place live on NetballPass.*, Kayo Sports, Foxtel and Binge this weekend with winning streaks extended and losing streaks ended.
Here is this week’s International Player Watch:
Melbourne Mavericks – Queensland Firebirds
Tensions were high at the start of this match with both teams looking to end their losing streaks, nothing could separate the two at the first break.
However, it was Mavericks that managed to settle, prove their point and come out on top with a 71-64 victory.
Jamaican Sunshine Girl Shimona Jok was untouchable in the Mavericks shooting circle as she shot at 100%, scoring all 61 of her one-point shots.

Adelaide Thunderbirds – West Coast Fever
Whilst for Mavericks Round 6 was about ending their losing streak, for West Coast Fever their match against Adelaide Thunderbirds was about continuing their winning streak, and that they did.
A strong start from Fever saw them hold off Thunderbirds final quarter comeback, to win the game 61-67.
One stand out international player in this match was Fever’s Australian Diamond Sunday Aryang, who made three intercepts and six gains at goal defence, all of which proved vital in such a close match.

Giants Netball – NSW Swifts
Speaking of unbeaten runs, NSW Swifts extended theirs as to six games, as they went from strength to strength in their match against Giants, winning every quarter before taking the game 69 – 82.
Australian Diamond Jamie-Lee Price was everywhere for Swifts as she clocked up nine assists, three turnovers and an interception.

Melbourne Vixens – Sunshine Coast Lightning
Finally, Sunshine Coast Lightning have secured back-to-back wins for the first time this season, after they beat Melbourne Vixens 62-50 on Sunday.
Lightning showed the depth in their squad as they switched up their Diamond shooters, starting Reilley Batcheldor over Cara Koenen at goal shooter, and Batcheldor did not disappoint as she scored 46 goals, shooting at 92%.
