Only two matches took place this weekend in the Suncorp Super Netball League (SSN), with the second two Round 3 matches scheduled to take place on the 26th April, all live on NetballPass.*, Kayo Sports, Foxtel and Binge.
It was a weekend for many to celebrate with Melbourne Mavericks securing their first victory, NSW Swifts continuing their unbeaten streak and two Jamaican Sunshine Girls celebrating personal achievements.
The successes of some did come at the downfall of others, with Giants left still searching for their first victory of the season, and Adelaide Thunderbirds unbeaten streak coming to an end.
Here is this week’s International Player Watch:
Melbourne Mavericks vs Giants Netball
Both Melbourne Mavericks and Giants Netball entered this game looking for their first victories of the season, and it was Mavericks that came out on top.
It was a special day for Jamaican Sunshine Girl Shimona Jok as she played in her 100th league game, and she did not disappoint as she scored 60 out of 63 of her shots, helping Mavericks to their eventual 71-56 victory.
To top off a memorable round, Jok now currently sits top of the league’s goals scored charts with 152 goals to her name.
Congratulations Jok!
