Here is this week’s international player spotlight:

Queensland Firebirds vs West Coast Fever

Queensland Firebirds secured their second win of the season in Round 2, this time against West Coast Fever, a team still searching for their first win after two rounds.

One up and coming international player that made her mark in this game was Australia’s Isabelle Shearer.

Shearer started at goal keeper for Firebirds, and made seven gains, including three interceptions in her teams 67-54 victory.

NSW Swifts vs Melbourne Mavericks

Another team that kept up their perfect season start was NSW Swifts, as they beat Melbourne Mavericks 68-62.

England Rose Helen Housby was one to watch in this game, especially in the second half.

Housby appeared to come alive in the penultimate quarter, scoring 11 goals, including four Super Shots, with 100% accuracy in the second half. We are loving seeing Husby’s connecting with New Zealand Silver Fern Grace Nweke continue to develop!

Sunshine Coast Lightning vs Adelaide Thunderbirds

Adelaide Thunderbirds 45-60 victory over Sunshine Coast Lightning saw them re-claim the top spot of the SSN table, all be it at a very early stage of the season.

One international player in this game that continued to make her mark was Jamaican Sunshine Girl, Romelda Aiken-George.

The Thunderbirds shooter scored 40 goals in this game, teaming up seamlessly with both her Australian shooting partners Lauren Frew and Georgie Horjus at different stages of the game, who were both equally as clinical.

Melbourne Vixens vs Giants Netball

Melbourne Vixens secured their first win of the season in Round 2, beating Giants Netball 61-55, thanks to strong ends to both the first and second half’s.

It was a special day for Australian Diamond Jo Weston who played her 150th match for Vixens.

Weston played the majority of this game slightly out of position at goal keeper, but she showed her class and experience as she still excelled making three gains, including one interception.

Congratulations, Jo!
