The penultimate Netball World Cup 2019 Regional Qualifier is to take place this week in Barbados, with eight teams battling it out for the two available positions in the Americas Qualifier for next year’s event in Liverpool.
Barbados will host Argentina, Trinidad & Tobago, USA, Grenada, St Vincent & Grenadines, St Maarten and Canada who will all play each other in a round robin style tournament where the top two will advance to the World Cup
Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago both took part in Netball World Cup 2015 in Sydney, Australia. This will be the first qualifier event for St Vincent & Grenadines and St Maarten.
Jamaica has already qualified for Netball World Cup 2019 due to their 4th place world ranking.
The INF will be live-streaming the event throughout the week on the INF YouTube channel, Facebook and Twitter. The event will also be live-streamed locally in Barbados. This follows on from a successful live stream of the Africa Qualifiers in Zambia with an audience of over 2 million on Facebook and over 250,000 views on YouTube.
Following on from Americas, Singapore will host the Asia’s Regional Qualifiers taking place from the 1st – 9th September where the last two places for Netball World Cup 2019 are up for grabs.
An announcement of all qualifying teams for Netball World Cup 2019 will follow from the last regional qualifiers in Asia.
The Official Draw for Netball World Cup 2019 will take place on September 15th in Nottingham at the Vitality Goalden Globes Awards – England Netball’s annual recognition event for volunteers.
