International Day of University Sport

Today is the International Day of University Sport as proposed by the International University Sports Federation (FISU).

FISU, founded in 1949, coordinates the activities of over 100 national university sports federations and holds world university championships in the most popular university sports.

The first World University Netball Championship was held in our 2023 World Cup location, Cape Town, South Africa, in 2012.

In 2016, they then introduced the International Day of University Sport which is a day that aims to raise awareness for the importance of sport in universities, both mentally and physically.

This year, to celebrate International Day of University Sport we want to hear how important netball was to you when you started university.

Did you make your first friends going to netball? Did you play the sport for the first time? Or perhaps you completed your umpire qualification?

Follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to get involved and let us know what university netball means to you.
