The SPAR Proteas secured their sixth win in the SPAR Challenge Tri Nations netball tournament at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on Wednesday 31st March when they beat Uganda 44-32 to secure the trophy.
The series was important for all three nations participating in the series (South Africa, Namibia, and Uganda) as they aimed to boost their world rankings and gain very important international experience after a year in which the Covid-19 pandemic played havoc. It was also an opportunity for teams to prepare for next year’s Commonwealth Games and the World Cup in Cape Town in 2023.
The SPAR Baby Proteas and the President’s XII also took to the court during the tournament.
