The world-famous Emirates Dubai 7s have announced that team entrances for the Netball tournament open on March 1st.
On December 2-4th, 2021, teams will compete for Emirates Dubai 7s Netball glory on four purpose-built courts in a celebration of the sport taking place in the heart of the desert.
The Netball tournament features teams worldwide competing in three divisions: Gulf Women, Open Women and Open Youth.
Now entering its sixth year, the tournament has grown every year since its inception and now takes its places as one of the largest in the region, attracting teams from the UK, Australia, South Africa and across the Gulf.
The Netball tournament is only part of the festival, with other sports taking place alongside a massive celebration of entertainment, including Big Top Dance Tents, Cocktail Bars, Heineken Taverns, Silent Disco and of course, the Dubai 7s festival pool.
With a 50-year history, the tournament is considered one of the most family-friendly sports and entertainment events globally, with something for everyone.
Tournament Director Tom Burwell spoke of his vision for the Netball tournament to match that of rugby: “The Netball competition is growing each year. It’s many people’s favourite part of the festival, especially on Friday night as the sun goes down, the DJ on the decks above the courts and the stands full and absolutely pumping. It’s a special experience.”
“We have the vision to build the biggest participation Netball tournament in the world with some of the best teams travelling to Dubai each year. The plans for this year’s festival are inspiring, and we look forward to being back in the desert after a year away in 2020.”
Team entrance opens on March 1st and can be accessed directly on www.dubairugby7s.com or by reaching out to the organisers on dubai.7s@thesevens.ae
