World Netball Vice President, Shirley Hooper, has been awarded Life Membership of Netball New Zealand, their highest honour, recognising her commitment at both local and international levels, whilst statistician Todd Miller has been awarded a Service Award.
Netball has played a significant part in Hooper’s life for over 50 years as a player, umpire, sponsor, broadcaster, Board member and Chairperson in an expansive resume.
Hooper has been part of World Netball (WN) Since 2017 when she was voted in as a Further Director and went on to act as Chair of the Commercial Committee and was a member of the Foundation Strategy Group, before being elected as Vice President at the 2021 Congress.
Miller has analysed matches dating back to the first Netball World Cup in 1963, collating different figures including highest and lowest scores.
The statistician has attended five Netball World Cup’s and four Commonwealth Games, and most recently attended the 2019 Netball World Cup where he was the lead statistician.
World Netball would like to thank Hooper and Miller for their continued contribution and dedication to netball on a local and international level.
