Netball Head Coach: Hong Kong Cricket Club
A unique opportunity has arisen for a full-time Head Coach for the Netball section at the renowned Hong Kong Cricket Club, due to the continued expansion and success of the section. This pivotal position will lead the development, management, and implementation of netball programs and strategies to achieve optimum success for both Junior and Senior netballers of the Hong Kong Cricket Club.
Background
Situated in the heart of Hong Kong Island, The Hong Kong Cricket Club was founded in 1851 and has provided sports and recreational activities to members and the wider community for over 160 years. HKCC fielded its first netball team in 1984 and the Netball section has now grown to consist of 64 women across 5 training and 1 non-training teams playing in the HKNA Senior League competition. In addition, there are 120 girls across 12 teams from under 10’s to under 19’s competitions who participate in the HKNA Junior League. We work hard to create a welcoming and inclusive community that take pride in our sportsmanship and our contribution to the development of netball in Asia.
With the growth of the section, has come success across all divisions of the HKNA League. In the 2018/19 Season, all training teams qualified for the semi-finals with the Division 1 Devils and Division 6 Sirens placing first. Each of our Junior teams U12s – U19s (10 teams) placed either 1st or 2nd in the finals. We proudly have a number of junior and senior players representing Hong Kong at the national level.
Role Purpose
As the Head Coach, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of the technical and performance standards of the players, as well as managing the administration and strategy behind the scenes to ensure the section runs smoothly. The club is passionate about upskilling and developing our senior and youth members and your input and support of this program will be invaluable.
You will act as a mentor and manager to the volunteer coaches for the section, working with them as a group and individually to upskill and inspire them for the benefit of the players. You will report directly to the Sports Development Manager for the Hong Kong Cricket Club and work closely with the Junior and Senior Netball Convenors and Committee. As a result of your leadership and planning, you will build increased capacity to the section, improve the skills of the players and the coaches and implement the best possible coaching structure for the HKCC Netball Section.
The role requires a 6-day working week of 48 hours to commence in June/July 2020.
Skills and Experience Required
- Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent experience: Minimum Australian Level 2
- Proven track record of success within Junior and Senior netball competitions
- Proven ability to inspire, motivate and develop both players and coaches
- Strong organisational and communication skills
