INF President visits Botswana for Netball World Youth Cup Draw


Netball World Youth Cup 2017

The Draw took place in Gaborone, Botswana for the Netball World Youth Cup 2017 being held next July in Gaborone.

The Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, the Honourable Thapelo Olopeng, who welcomed guests to the event, said that this was the first World Cup sporting event for Botswana and a very important milestone in the journey of Botswana sports development. He added that the competition will shine the spotlight on young girls, and has the effect of empowering them to become great leaders.

INF President, the Honourable Molly Rhone OJ, CD said that this would be a great opportunity to showcase Botswana to the world and urged all stakeholders to take ownership of the event and make the greatest effort to support the Local Organising Committee. She also revealed the brand new Netball World Youth Cup trophy.

During her visit, the President had several key meetings with Government partners and sponsors and was interviewed on Botswana TV, alongside Prisca Mokgadi, Chair Person of the Botswana Local Organising Committee.
