Sunday 19th January saw the return of International Netball. The first tournament of 2020 kicked off at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham where Jamaica took on South Africa in the first game of day one. Despite falling short to South Africa at the Netball World Cup 2019, world number fours Jamaica finished the game strong with a 59-54 win over the SPAR Proteas. Day one also saw our World Champions, New Zealand, take to the court against England in the second game of the tournament. Both teams battled it out with their new look squads. The World Champions looked strong as they took the win over England 64-48.
The second round of the Vitality Netball Nations Cup, held at the Arena Birmingham, saw New Zealand continue to show their strength taking their second win of the tournament against Jamaica, 71-45. Cheered on by the home crowd, England came from behind to take the win over South Africa 58-54.
The final two days of the tournament are set to be an exciting showcase of netball. Saturday 25th sees New Zealand play South Africa at 14:30 GMT and England play Jamaica at 17:00 GMT. Followed by the final day of the Vitality Netball Nations Cup on Sunday 26th with 3rd v 4th playoff match at 14:30 GMT and 1st v 2nd at 17:00 GMT.
