The World Netball Coaching Advisory Panel (CAP) is now inviting World Netball Members and Regions, as well as other external stakeholders, to submit their coaching programmes for assessment, giving them the opportunity to have their programmes endorsed by World Netball for the first time ever.
Upon submission each programme will be assessed against relevant principles, with an endorsement process followed by the CAP Member assessing the programme.
Click the titles below to learn more about the principles, process, how you can submit your programme for assessment, and the Terms and Conditions now.
Each coaching programme submitted for endorsement will be assessed against the following 14 principles:
- The programme, course or workshop fits within a coach development framework including a range of learning opportunities being provided for a coach.
- The content is applicable to the time frame outlined in the programme.
- The content is current and reflects contemporary coaching practices.
- Contains the most current content around the performance component (for example, technical, tactical. physiological, psychological & nutrition), and is age, ability, and gender appropriate.
- Coach reflection is integrated within the programme.
- Pedagogical considerations are incorporated and demonstrate variability.
- Embraces and advocates the holistic approach.
- Demonstrates rules in action where appropriate.
- The programme, course or workshop outlines the relevant coaching context.
- Recognition for prior learning is evident where appropriate.
- The relevant experience and qualification to tutor the course or programme is well documented.
- The course or programme reflects action learning and shows a connection from theory to practice where relevant.
- There is an opportunity for a coach to evaluate and provide feedback on the course or workshop.
- For a course or award there is time to embed the learning, and this will relate to the assessment time frame.
The process that should be followed for submission differs depending on whether you are a World Netball Region, Member or external stakeholder.
Please read that section that is relevant to you.
Members and Regions
During the first six months of each two-year endorsement period Regions will be able to submit three free endorsements for review. These three submissions can either be on behalf of one of their Member countries, or on behalf of the Region itself.
For this cycle that means that Regions will have from the 1st November 2023 until the 1st May 2024 to submit their free three submissions. Regions then will not be able to submit three free submissions until the first six months of the next two-year cycle, which will be the 1st November 2025 – 1st May 2026.
World Netball Members that are interested in submitting a programme for free endorsement should first contact their Region, who will decide whether this programme should be one of their free submissions for the year.
If a Member wishes to submit a programme for assessment without waiting for their Region to select the free entries, they can pay a charge of £50 for their course to be assessed.
Regions who are ready to submit any of their free programmes or Regions/Members who wish to pay for additional submissions should email CAP Chair, Dr Anita Navin to do so. If you do not have Anita’s email, please email info@worldnetball.sport where a member of the World Netball Secretariat will be able to assist you.
Other stakeholders
The cost for any stakeholder wishing to submit a coaching programme for assessment is £100.00.
Stakeholders wishing to make a submission should use the following link to complete the form and make payment here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/FSHZKND
Once the form has been completed you will receive an email acknowledging your submission within 48 working hours.
After any programme has been submitted for assessment, a Member of CAP engaged in coach development will review the paperwork submitted within four weeks of the date received.
One of the following results will then be given:
- Endorsement of the course / programme / workshop for two years
- Endorsement with recommendations for implementation and then resubmission within three months
- No endorsement – conditions to meet and resubmit within three months.
Once a course has been endorsed the World Netball Digital Marketing Team will supply the Member, Region or stakeholder with a certificate and will add the endorsement logo to the course.
All programmes submitted must be in English.
Once a programme has been submitted for assessment no changes can be made without consulting the CAP. Changes made without approval will lead to the endorsement being removed and no refund given.
Each endorsement will only last for two years, at the end of which the course will need to be submitted again for re-endorsement.
The Endorsement logo must not be used on anything else without World Netball’s permission. To seek permission to use the World Netball Endorsement logo, please email Sophie.reynolds@worldnetball.sport.
