The international Netball Family that tuned in on NetballPass this weekend were treated to another three thrilling ANZ Premiership (ANZP) clashes.
The first contest of the weekend saw unbeaten Pulse being pushed all the way by a strong Stars side.
The match started going goal-for-goal, with Pulse not pulling away until the end of the first quarter.
Things remained tight with the home side marginally winning the first three quarters, with Silver Fern Kelly Jackson a real force to be reckoned with in defence for them as she made eight gains.
Another Silver Fern that made a real difference in this contest was Whitney Souness at wing attack, as she acted as a play maker putting in 20 goal assists and making three interceptions.
Stars shot into the final 15-minutes, winning the quarter 9-14 but it wasn’t quite enough to catch Pulse who took the game 58-52.
Elsewhere in the ANZP Tactix bounced back from their first defeat of the season, to cement their second-place spot in the league, as they beat Steel by nine goals.
Just like Souness at Pulse, it was Tactix New Zealander wing attack, Kimiora Poi, that put on a masterclass in this contest as she made 18 goal assists and three gains.
Tactix went on to win the match 53-44, despite losing the final quarter.
The final match of Round 6 saw Northern Mystics face Magic, and it was Mystics that continued their winning ways as they capitalised on Magic’s poor first half, where they were unable to score more than 8 goals a quarter.
The visitors picked things up in the second half, winning the remaining two quarters, but just like in the other two matches this weekend a second half comeback was not enough for them to catch their opponents.
Samoan international Filda Vui had a great game for Mystics as she shot at over 80% scoring 31 goals for her side in their 54-44 victory.
