At the most recent Commonwealth Games (CWG), Birmingham 2022, New Zealand finished 3rd beating the hosts, England, 55-48 in the Bronze Medal Match. This was the first time they had finished 3rd.
The Silver Ferns previously finished 2nd in 1998, 2002, and 2014, and 1st in 2006 and 2010.
In 2018, at the Gold Coast CWG, New Zealand missed out on a medal for the first time in history, as they finished 4th losing to Jamaica in the Bronze Medal Match.
