England hosted the most recent Commonwealth Games (CWG), Birmingham 2022 (B2022).
They went into this event as defending Champions, after they beat Australia in the Gold Coast 2018 Final 51-52 thanks to a final second goal from Helen Housby.
This was the first time that England had won gold at the CWG, with their previous highest placing being 3rd, which they achieved three times in 2010, 2006 and 1998.
At B2022, the Roses finished in 4th place losing out on a podium spot to New Zealand, who beat them 55-48 in the Bronze Medal Match.
