At the most recent Commonweatlh Games (CWG), Birmingham 2022 (B2022), South Africa finished in 6^th place after losing 48-54 to Uganda in the 5^th/6^th place classification match.

The SPAR Proteas are yet to finish on the podium at the CWG. Their highest finish in the event came in 1998 when they finished 4^th, after losing the Bronze Medal Match to England 56-54.
