ANZ Premiership International Player Watch – Round 4

Round 4 of the ANZ Premiership (ANZP) took place this weekend, live and on demand on NetballPass, Sky Sport and TVNZ, with top and bottom of the table clashes changing the current league standings.

Here is this weeks international player watch:

Tactix vs Mystics

A top of the table clash saw Tactix deal Mystics their first defeat of the season, 61 -50, as the first and second place teams switched place in the league.

It was a strong final quarter that ensured Tactix came out in the top spot, as they extended their four-goal lead to an 11-goal victory in the final 15 minutes.

Tactix excelled in all areas of the court, but one international star that stood out in particular was New Zealand Silver Fern Ellie Bird, who shot at 100% scoring all 50 of her shots from under the post in a clinical performance.

Steel vs Pulse

Pulse did not miss a beat as they beat Stars 45 – 70 in the second match of Round 4, their biggest victory since 2018.

Just like in the Tactix game it was a Silver Ferns shooter that stood out for Pulse, with 50 the magic number once again as Amelia Walmsley scored 50 of her 51 shots for her side.

Walmsley now sits top of the goals scored charts in the league, with 176 goals from 185 attempts this season so far.
