Netball Argentina Host 4th National Coaching Conference Inviting International Coaches for the First Time.

Netball Argentina (NA) recently hosted their 4th National Coaching Conference, inviting international coaches, that they have previously trained and supported with their World Netball (WN) Strategic Development Funding (SDF), to attend.

NA were awarded SDF by WN in 2024 to support with the work they were doing with neighbouring South American countries focusing on school PE teacher training and coach development.

Since then, NA has used the funding to do work in Chile and Bolivia where they have sent their internationally trained coaches to deliver introductory coaching programs, followed by inviting representative teams led by these coaches to compete in the Buenos Aires Open Tournament.

The two coaches that delivered the training were Professor Maximiliano Cohen and Professor Aníbal Garcete Segovia who were trained by Europe Netball Coaches, Anita Navin (WN Coaching Advisory Panel Chair) and Nicky Fuller.

In Chile, Professor Maximiliano Cohen led introductory training at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile which led to a Chilean representative team participating in both the 2024 and 2025 Buenos Aires Open Tournament.

Following on from this, Professor Aníbal Garcete Segovia conducted introductory training at the University Institute of Physical Education in La Paz, Bolivia. This initiative led to a Bolivian team competing in the 2025 edition of the Open Tournament.

Professors María Elena Muñecas Montaña from Bolivia and José Aznaran Aravena from Chile, who were trained through this programme were then invited to attend the 4th National Coaches’ Conference in Argentina at the start of 2026, alongside coaches from across Argentina helping to develop netball in the South America region.
