Rhian Edwards Retires From International Umpire Awardee Role

World Netball (WN) has today announced that Rhian Edwards has retired from her role as an International Umpire Awardee (IUA).

Rhian was first awarded IUA status in 2022, and since then has gone on to have a very successful international career.

Some of Rhian’s highlights include officiating at the Netball World Cup 2023 Europe Qualifiers, Commonwealth Youth Games 2023, FAST5 Netball World Series 2023, and Netball World Youth Cup 2025.

Speaking on her international umpiring career, Rhian said: “Reaching the IUA standard of umpiring has surpassed my ambition and I have enjoyed every step of the journey.

“I have been so lucky to have officiated at so many great tournaments alongside some memorable international series, including England vs South Africa and Scotland vs New Zealand as my highlights.

“I feel like I have achieved far more than I ever thought I would, met so many wonderful people, been to some amazing places and had fun along the way.”

WN would like to take this opportunity to thank Rhian for her services, and wish her the best of luck for the future.
