SOUTH AFRICA TELKOM NETBALL LEAGUE OVERVIEW

The Telkom Netball League came to an end in South Africa this weekend, with the Eastern Cape Aloes winning the 2nd division and the Gauteng Jaguars winning the 1st division.

The league was played out across two legs from the 5th-12th September, and then from the 9th-17th October.

In division one the Jaguars 53-41 victory over The Southern Stings confirmed their 5th title win.

The Jaguars came out firing in the first quarter of their 8th consecutive final and pulled away with a six-goal lead early on, which the Stings failed to ever come back from despite a stronger second half.

Meanwhile in division two, The Eastern Cape Aloes claimed the title with a 42-33 victory over the Western Cape Tornados.

However, the Aloes then failed to secure promotion as they lost 40-49 to division one team North West Flames in the promotion/relegation battle.

After going 11 games without a victory, the Flames broke their winless streak to ensure they remained the in the top division next season.

Congratulations to all teams involved.
