UAE WIN EUROPE NETBALL OPEN CHALLENGE

The Europe Netball Open Challenge came to a close yesterday in Gibraltar, with The UAE making history as they won their first ever gold at an international open competition.

The UAE Falcons started the competition with a shock victory over hosts Gibraltar, and went on to finish the challenge unbeaten with their final 57-33 victory coming against Malta.

Despite losing early on to the now 2021 challenge champions, Gibraltar had a strong tournament and only missed out on 2nd place when they lost to the Isle of Man by 6 goals in a nail-biting clash.

The result meant the Isle of Man claimed second place, but the good news didn’t stop there for the Rams as their captain Ashley Hall was also named player of the tournament.

You can watch the presentation ceremony here, and catch up on all the action on Europe Netball’s YouTube channel here.

Well done to Europe Netball and Gibraltar Netball for organising the Test-Series during a challenging time, and Congratulations to The UAE on their victory!
