Netball South Africa launches Junior Netball Championships

Netball South Africa has launched a junior netball championships tournament for 16- to 19-year-olds across the country which will begin on the 2nd October and run until 7th.

The tournament has been set up in association with South Africa Schools Netball (SASN) and Telkom with the aim to give young netballers an opportunity to showcase and develop their skills and talents.

Netball South Africa also hopes it will give team managers, coaches, umpires and administrators an opportunity to get involved in the game and develop in their roles.

Speaking on the announcement Netball South Africa President, Cecilia Molokwane, said: “This is one of the biggest milestones we have attained as a federation together with our associate member SA Schools Netball.

“Our vision of making netball fashionable and taking netball back to the people will be attainable when we start initiatives like these, development is very crucial, and I believe that we are headed in the right direction here.”

World Netball would like to wish all the teams involved in the championships the best of luck.
