#InternationalFriendshipDay2021 World Netball Competition

Today, the 30th of July 2021, marks International Day of Friendship, a day that recognises the relevance and importance of friendship as a valuable part of our lives.

International Day of Friendship was proclaimed in 2011 by the UN General Assembly with that idea that friendships between people, countries and cultures can inspire peace and build bridges between communities.

In Netball, we are lucky that our sport is built around friendships with the common saying “here if you need” used on and off the court.

World Netball’s mission is to create a better world through netball, and creating global friendships is just one way we do this.

Whether you have met a friend in netball through playing in the same team, volunteering at an event, or working to develop netball in communities, we want to hear from you.

To mark International Friendship Day 2021, we want you to share a picture of you and your netball friend, tag World Netball, and use the hashtag #HereIfYouNeed.

Those that share an image will be entered into a competition to win a World Netball merchandise box for you and your friend.

Entries close at 23:59 BST on 30th July 2021 and the winner will be selected and announced on the World Netball social media channels.
