Technical Delegate Announced for Netball at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games

INF has appointed Ian Holloway as the INF Technical Delegate for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games (B2022) for the sport of netball. This is a voluntary, part-time role.

Ian is Director of Superleague and Competitions for England Netball responsible for the strategic development and growth of the Vitality Netball Superleague and competitions. In 2018, Ian was seconded to the Vitality Netball World Cup as Head of Sports Competition where he successfully managed all areas of the sport and event. Previously he worked on the ICC T20 World Cup and the Women’s Champions Trophy Hockey.

On his appointment as Technical Delegate B2022 for Netball, Holloway comments: “I am delighted and honoured to be appointed into this position. Alongside the Netball World Cup, the Commonwealth Games is a pinnacle for the sport and to be a part of Birmingham 2022 as Technical Delegate is a great privilege. I look forward to working alongside the Organising Committee and Netball Associations on behalf of the INF to ensure that the competition is delivered to the highest standards and showcases the sport in the best possible way.”

The Technical Delegate for Netball will be key for the Birmingham 2022 Games – reporting to the INF CEO and Board they will liaise with the Host Organising Committee and the Host Member Netball Associations prior to and during the event. They will oversee the competition planning in addition to providing technical advice and sharing best practice to ensure the netball competition is delivered to INF rules and regulations.

INF CEO, Clare Briegal comments: “Congratulations to Ian on his appointment as Technical Delegate. Ian has a wealth of knowledge and experience in both sport and netball and INF looks forward to working closely with Ian, the CGF and B2022 on delivery world-class netball competitions at the Games.”
