International Day of Sport for Development and Peace

On the 6th April 2019, International Day of Sport for Development and Peace will be celebrated globally, with various events taking place.

In 2013, the UN General Assembly declared 6th April as the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace – a decision that represented a historic step in recognising the transformative power of sport and its great potential in advancing positive social change.

The day is commemorated globally each year by International, Regional and National sport and development organisations to honour the role that sport plays in society.

#WhiteCard is the symbolic initiative to celebrate the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace 2019.

Peace and Sport invite you to rally around the symbol of a #WhiteCard as a sign of your commitment to peace efforts worldwide.

To take part in this campaign simply snap yourself with a #WhiteCard, post the image on social media making sure you remember the hashtag #WhiteCard and spread the word to all your friends.
