AFNA 2018 Champion of Champions High Schools Netball Tournament Officially Launched

INF President, The Hon. Molly Rhone OJ CD, attended the official launch of the inaugural Americas Federation of Netball Associations (AFNA) 2018 Champion of Champions High Schools Netball Tournament last Saturday in Kingston, Jamaica.

Twelve high school teams from across the Americas region will participate in the competition that will take place this July. The event is the first of its kind and will feature high school teams from Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, St Lucia, and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

During her key note address at the launch, Molly Rhone said: “The INF depends on its five regions for the development of the game and this development begins at the grassroots and school level. It is our hope that this Championship will lay the foundation for our other regions to follow.”

Event organiser and past President of Netball Jamaica, Marva Bernard, identified the importance of this event and said: ‘Future Sunshine Girls, future Calypso Girls and future Bajan Gems will come out of a competition like this.”

You can re-watch the launch on the BrawtaSports Facebook page which can be found here.
