Vanuatu Netball elects new executive

Newly elected members of the Board of the Vanuatu Netball Association (VNA) were announced after Member Association voters cast their votes for seven nominee applicants who contested for the vacant positions of Vanuatu Netball Association President through a preferential voting system. The election took place at the VNA’s 2016 Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at VASANOC Haus conference room on Saturday 28 January 2017.

VNA Board of Directors today is headed by the President: Kathie Simon and the following members: Elizabeth Iauko, Miltus Fomani, Josian Tarosa all representing Shefa Netball, and Alima Garae representing Port Vila Netball.

The AGM conducted witnessed for the first time the presence of representatives from Torba Netball and Malampa Netball, apart from existing four Member Associations (MA) representing Port Vila, Luganville, Sanma and Shefa.

The new executive headed by the President meets this week to officially announce allocation of portfolios. Vacant positions include Director of Treasurer Development, Director of Game Development, Business Development and Community Development.

The new board is expected to meet on Thursday 2nd February to discuss important issues regarding VAN2017 Pacific Mini Games and domestic netball issues.
