Today, Friday 3rd June, marks one year since the International Netball Federation rebranded to World Netball and launched its strategic plan to shape the future of the sport and drive positive impact around the globe.
The governing body’s renaming reflected the significant growth in awareness and development of netball over recent years and shone a light on the sport’s reputation for providing opportunities, creating communities and inspiring netballers.
The strategic plan revealed our three core strategies: To Grow, To Play and To Inspire, which are all underpinned by good governance.
We are thrilled with the response to our new brand and the strategic plan and thank our Members, Regions, partners, sponsors and our committees and technical panels for the part you played in their creation.
Since the launch we have made advancements with all three core strategies, including welcoming eight new Ambassadors to help inspire the next generation, announcing the return of the FAST5 Netball World Series to New Zealand and our intention to work with Netball Australia to create a compelling case for netball’s inclusion in the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games and also creating a Voice of the Athlete Working Group who have helped us begin our journey towards creating an Athletes Advisory Commission.
To celebrate our first year of growth as World Netball, we want you all to get involved and let us know what you have done this year to help grow, play or inspire through netball.
