St Vincent and the Grenadines win the OECS/ECCB International Netball Series – 2nd Edition

The OECS/ECCB International Netball Series 2nd Edition came to a close this weekend in Dominica, with St Vincent and the Grenadines being crowned champions of the tournament.

This came after St Vincent and the Grenadines only lost to Barbados, an invitation team at the tournament who therefore could not win the competition but could still use their results for WN World Ranking purposes.

In order to win the series, St Vincent and the Grenadines had to beat hosts Dominica, as well as St Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda, and St Lucia.

The series went down to the final day and match of the series, St Vincent and the Grenadines vs St Lucia, as both teams had been victorious in their previous matches against the other OECS/ECCB sides.

It was St Vincent and the Grenadines that came out on top, leaving St Lucia in second and Antigua and Barbuda in 3rd.

Congratulations to St Vincent & the Grenadines midcourter Shania Pompey was named Player of the Series, for her strong influence on her team’s tournament victory.
