#SafeSportDay – 8th August 2021

International Safeguards for Children in Sport has declared today, 8th August 2021 as #SafeSportDay.

It is every child’s right to be safe during sport, and it is every organisations responsibility to protect them.

World Netball is committed to making sport safer for children, ensuring that children have access to sport in a safe way to help with their development and well-being.

As a member of the International Safeguarding Children in Sport Working Group, World Netball has collaborated with more than fifty organisations around the globe to develop a set of standards to safeguard all children participating in sport.

The focus on Safeguarding reinforces the World Netball key pilar, govern, in the new World Netball 2021 Strategic plan and World Netball’s ethical value ‘integrity’. These state that the organisation will always remain a leader in best practice and do the right thing no matter how hard it is.

World Netball remains committed to working with our Members to promote safeguarding and the welfare of all our participants.

Join us today and every day in making sport safe from abuse for all children by pledging your support on social media and learning what you can do.

Follow the hashtag #SafeSportDay throughout the day on social media to learn more about this important day and the work that International Safeguards for Children in Sport do.
